Gus Piazza' son Jordan is happy to announce the comeback of Phils in BR. Location will be by Bulldog in the old Thai Kitchen location. I think the opening is just over a month away. Can't wait!

He should open in the old Gov't Street location.

Maybe but I think Perkins area will do well. Jordan is a good friend of mine and the man knows restaurants. I'm excited to see what he has in store for us.

Anything Jordan is involved with will be a death sentence.

Dude couldn't manage his way out of a wet paper bag.

No doubt. Some unlucky bank is about to get taken to the cleaners here.

Good to get it off Gov't, when it goes to one lane for our thousands of bike riders (they must be invisible), a lot of the businesses are doomed.

Nothing really in BR currently. Decent oyster bar, but pretty mediocre everything else. Closest thing I can think to compare as a restaurant would be Felix's in N.O.

It was a classic old school divey type place that got a lot of play and notoriety as broadcasters would hang out when they came in town for LSU events.

He's a douche bag of epic proportions and is just trying to make some money off the Phil's name.

He managed some of the Last In Concepts restaurants and did a horrible job and that. The only reason he was even able to pull that off was because he was Jack Warner's bottom bitch.

It hasn't been on government in decades.
Didn't they move it off college for a little while but didn't last?
I remember many late nights with my mom and uncles in the government location.

doesnt sound promising.

sounds like a reopening of something like a pastime.

hopefully its better than before because it would be cool to have some oysters and walk next door for a beer

Well since his late father Gus who put his heart and soul into managing and owning the place since the 70s ,maybe, just MAYBE they want to honor him by bringing it back to life. Sounds like you're the real "douche bag of epic proportions". Get fricked

Eta: I just looked at your post history

Sorry your buddy is a douche bag man but that's just the way it goes. Maybe he's trying to honor his dad but I wouldn't bet on it. Maybe you shouldn't take your buddies life so personal

I never worked in a restaurant a day in my life, just know how he conducts himself. I wouldn't get in business with him...too much of a liability.
