Phil has cancer and evidently isn't doing well.

Desi Vega will open a prime burger and shake place in the old Phils Grill place in Harahan. Coming next month

I remember reading a facebook post about how he had gone back to the doctor and that after the news, he had sold the business. Didn't think they were going to be closing any but

Anyways, thanks for the info.

Ironically I was talking to a buddy of mine yesterday who knows him pretty well. He didn't tell him who was taking over though, just that the offer was a no brainer to his family given his health problems.

I'm not from NOLA but two of my good friends are from Harahan and we've had some good memories at the location there. Sad to see a local business go.

Shame. I loved the hell out of the jalapenos aioli sauce. Also had great onion strings. Burger never seemed to be cooked right but with grilled onions & jalapenos, I still enjoyed it.

I was wondering what was up when I saw the other location had closed.

I for one am sad. Loved both locations. Actually discovered the place because of Tyson Chandler.

We sure seem to have a lot of burger places in the Nola area.
