Do they realize that they are basically eating batter?

AND/OR

Do they realize that they actually don’t like catfish?

Don’t see it a lot on menus that I’m aware of, but I feel like it is a staple/feature at some places.

Or they prefer the crispy texture that you get with thin fried. Either way

Thin fried, sprinkle that lemon juice on, dip in tartar sauce

If I wanted to taste more fish and less fried batter, I’d eat a better fish

I’ve never heard of thin or thick fried catfish. Filets or whole fish, those are the options I’m used to seeing. Now I’m going to have to go get some fish. The place I like is only open Thurs/Fri/Sat from 3-8pm. This weeks dessert special is blueberry cobbler.

Couldn’t stand Middendorffs. Everyone raved about it and to me it was a dud.

I edited my OT answer when they moved the thread to F&D. I have actually never been to Middendorfs.

So you like batter and don’t really like fish.

Overrated, but don’t listen to me. Everyone else seems to love it.

When thin fried hell yeah!

There is a reason why the best way to eat catfish is fried, seasoned to hell, or sauced

You've chosen a really weird hill to die on here.

I'm not sure the one necessarily follows the other. One can like the batter AND also enjoy catfish.

Or, sometimes I prefer thin over thick catfish. I love catfish. This is an all time dumb thread

why do you care what people like? As long as they are enjoying what they like. Are you paying for their food?
To each their own and let them enjoy their food.

Just enjoy all types of food. It is considered bad manners to comment on what others eat
