???? RELEASE ALERT! ???? . . On Saturday, November 2nd, we will be releasing two new beers. First up, Caribbean Shade. We will not be doing a pre-sale, and all beer will be first come, first served. . . . Nearly sixteen months in the making, Caribbean Shade slumbered peacefully in Barbados and Trinidad rum barrels along with a small amount of Heaven Hill bourbon barrels, all quietly waiting to be blended and conditioned. Once emptying the barrels, we infused the beer with three separate additions of toasted coconut and coconut cream along with a dusting of cassia bark to enhance the warm, toasted tones of the beer. Finally, an addition of Tahitian vanilla added baking spice and chocolate depth to an already rich base. Flavor highlights of rum-soaked Samoas Girl Scout cookies, Mounds candy bars, and salty ocean air. 13% ABV - $35 per 750ml - Brewery only - 8 bottles per person. Cheers! *Limits are subject to change during the day of release* . . . Stay tuned! We will be posting about the second released beer plus all the details for release day on Thursday, October 31st. . . ??: @drewski_s

$35 a bottle? Pricing appears to keep pushing the limits.

Not necessarily- the last Maple Shade release was stacked for months in the Taproom.

Vanilla shade sold out fairly quickly, maple shade has before. Pretty sure the last maple shade did sell out and was not at the taproom for months but I could be wrong.
Imperial Reserve fails to sell out I know and it is usually the one I see sitting.

The last 2 batches of maple shade didn't sell out on the release day. They had some in the taproom after. I think the most recent batch sat around longer than usual too.

I'm not sure about vanilla shade. I think it sold out, but Parish had some bottles in the taproom the next week. It could've been bottles people didn't pick up from the preorder.

Good for them. I will never spend $38 for a bottle of beer though.

They don’t have to sell out on release day to make it worthwhile. I fully anticipate a $40 bottle at some point.

They keep raking in the money because people will pay it, so I can’t blame them for what they’re doing. They clearly have an inelastic product.

You can't take any of them out. They're on site consumption.

I get what you're saying, but considering how much profit they are making off a product that didn't cost them that much to make, is somewhat off-putting.

For example, I tend to automatically shy away from local beers that are selling me 4-packs at $18 (much less a $35 bottle of beer).

In my opinion, it's kind of a f.u. to your local community, the ones that want to support you. I'll just opt for the $10 6-pack instead. Just my two cents. Take it for what (little) it is worth.

You're talking about the the beers in the cellar. They have those still available, I assume, but the ones I am referring to were to-go bottles. They had some vanilla shade bottles the Tuesday after.

That had to be people who didn't pick up as they announced the presale had sold out and the day of was sold out

Just went back and looked April 15th was they announced.

Anyway it will sell and it will be 80-90 a bottle on the secondary market as well.
