I attempted to go there the other Friday. There was a Jazzfest beer line out the door. We went elsewhere. The place is not overlooked at this point.

Absolutely!

1000 Figs is another good answer albeit a pretty small menu.(Im cool with it)

Also Lolas in that area for Spanish

Baru - Another overlooked place I like
*Disclaimer - I found a human tooth in my food
there the last time I went. Wont keep me
from going back.

I was hammered and I found it hilarious and just kept laughing for a long time. My wife was not amused.

Bevi gets a decent amount of pub, but I think people don't put it up there with the more well-known poboy shops. It should be because it's damn good!

Also, Kebab on St. Claude is super tasty but I don't see it mentioned in many articles and lists.

So many great suggestions. Thanks to all, verbal fisticuffs not withstanding. Actually I love a town where people are that passionate about food!

Kebab is great. St. Claude is generally overlooked. I also like the place in the back of Siberia but not as much as Kebab.

In addition to Bayona, Spicer's other restaurant, Mondo, is really good as well

I'll also add Clesi's.

And she has Rosedale Restaurant as well. It's a neat little neighborhood place that I'm guessing less than 5 percent of the Nola residence even know about.
