I prefer gambinos king cakes but they always frick up my online ordering or send it smashed up stick to the others suggested here

Haydels is old reliable, King cakes, Cajun Kringles etc...Great service all around.

Ventured out last year and tried Sucre's King Cake and it was outstanding and no issues with shipping. However, its a small King Cake compared to what you get from Haydels, Randazzo's etc..
So if you need to feed a crowd, go with the others mentioned above.

I don't think any amount of packing would prevent a heavy custard filling from sloshing around with rough handling. Best to stick with an un-filled cake if you're shipping it.
