I'm all about having an au pair. I suggest keeping it authentic with a 21 year old from France. Clearly the most qualified.

Oh lawd.

Well, there are these pesky people who sometimes intrude on my drinking time. What are they called again? Oh yeah, clients.

Once again, I looked to OT for reservations at some New Orleans restaurants for early April. For one particular restaurant, OT showed nothing available from 6:15 to 8:45pm. Called the restaurant and was told "no problem" and that I could come any time between 7 and 7:30, so I made the reservation. This has happened to me more than a few times at this point.

I was going to Ruffino's a few weeks ago and had this happen. Open Table had a spot at 6, and then some more at around 8:30. It said to call for tables during peak hours, so I did and it was no problem to grab a table for 7 like we wanted.

I guess they just don't want to overbook during their peak times, and also allow room for some walk-ins?

Regardless, didn't have to wait either way.

I use open table less and less, often times because of the exact issue you are describing. I use it to find restaurants more than anything these days, especially if I am in another city.

Also, it really only works in larger cities. I was in Laffy and BR for work recently. I opened up Open Table. Talk about depressing.
