My wife and I will be traveling through New Orleans for our anniversary, and only have one dinner opportunity. If there is one, fancy, don't miss restaurant in New Orleans for an anniversary dinner, which one would you recommend? TIA

The traditional answer would be Commander's Palace.

August is good.

Ralph's on the Park is nice as well, and the least fancy of these 3.

Commander's and it really shouldn't even be a tough decision for you.

I'd take her to Gautreau's or Clancy's. You could take her to Parkway the next day.

In all seriousness, it's hard to beat Galatoire's for me....or Commanders.

wat

Its August. August is almost universally considered the best fine dining restaurant in New Orleans. Especially if you have the cash for the tasting menu with the wine pairings.

There are several places I would put ahead of Commander's, personally, such as Gautreau's and Revolution (and Coquette, if you consider it in that category).

You will not be disappointed with Commander's at all, I wouldn't think, I'm just saying there are others above it at this point.

Thanks to the Admin who moved it, sorry.

I can't get in touch with Commander's Palace for a reservation. Trying GW Fins and Galatoire's next. Then I'll try Clancy's. Thanks for the help.
