Well it looks like I picked a great first Game at LSU. Coming down from Canada with a group of guys, beyond pumped to experience LSU tailgating and atmosphere. I posted awhile ago asking for any advice and was told to repost closer to the game... So just seeking any advice for on where the best tailgates are.. Thanks in advance and can't wait to see a Big LSU W!

Probably get more information on the rant instead of the food and drink board.

I always tell people to start on highland by N gate of campus. They have several bars there. Then you can take highland to the quad and walk the side walks towards the stadium where there is plenty of tailgating who would all be inviting. Enjoy

How old are you OP? If you dont mind.... That will dictate the direction you should be sent......

How old ara yall? and where are you staying
Bars:
If you want to college scene just go to Bogies or fred's
good beer: bulldog, corporate brew, draft house
i like the bulldog the best but corporate has the best tap list.
draft house is a decent hangout especially if you are staying downtown. Its on 3rd street with a few other bars to hop around.
if you are mid-20s and want to get sloppy but feel too old to go to a college bar. Go to Ivar's
Food:
Chimes though it is always packed on gamedays
Chelsea's is a solid spot
City Pork solid lunch and damn good brunch
Perrian's: same owners as chimes very similar but without the great beer selection. Still solid enough
People tailgate all over campus. Just bring a light cooler and make your rounds if you see someone cooking something good just talk in thick Canadian accent, look confused and ask a stupid question like "sorry, where is the best pisser? aboot ay" . They will probably offer you a plate
if i was you i would get to campus early. Stop into chimes get a few beers, oysters, a solid base meal, then hit the parade ground, look at some tail, and slowly make my way around aboot to the stadium.

We are staying at Magnuson Port Allen.. When I booked all the hotels closer to the stadium were already booked ... We will be down for pretty much anything, and it is likely to get sloppy, although we will have a DD.
Thanks again for all the advice Wolf and everyone

bridge will be a nightmare so if you want to be in Baton Rouge Friday during the day plan a good 30/40 minutes of "what the hell is this traffic" time.
Looking at the map it looks like you got a waffle house next door. Nothing better than smashing some waffle house at 3am after LSU beats Florida, i suggest you do that. It is Southern USA right of passage.

yall's age i say downtown would be the best. For Friday night Go to Stroube's for dinner to start your night then just bar hop downtown. Though i like to splurge on meals when i go on trips

Head to the bars after the game. Go check out tailgates as soon as you can get up.

Go to campus By 9am. Expect 45 min drive/park time. Will give u time to walk all over. Hit tailgates around the parade grounds, then between indian mounds and the airplane on ur way into the stadium.
Bogies, Freds, Reggies are college bars nearby if you are looking for that. Chimes, Barcadia, Walk Ons are restrnts near campus with a busy gameday atmosphere.
Post ur email and i will send you some info.
