Oasis started brewing a great Pale Ale called Slowride. New Belgium started brewing a typically mediocre pale ale called Slowride a few months later. But New Belgium with their deep pockets and their bully lawyers sued Oasis for exclusive use of the name and claimed since Oasis submitted their beer to the GABF in Denver then they fell under the laws if Colorado.. Judge dismissed the lawsuit.

I worked an event at OBC a few weeks ago and hooooolllyyyy crap is that place awesome. Amazing view, good beer, great set-up and the staff is really nice. I can't wait to go spend a Sunday there drinking instead of working.

They were first. If that's all there is to it, good for them.

Good. New Belgium can kick rocks with their anti oil and gas political agendas.

Will require that you fork over 40% of your beer to those who are not as lucky as you.

Possibly, but you are beer wealthy. I have seen your posts. You must spread your beer wealth with others.

Have you had their Hop Kitchen (Oatmeal IPA)? It's pretty damn great.

Link to New Belgium's side of the story

I'm sure the truth is somewhere in the middle, but it appears New Belgium went through the proper channels to name their beer well in advance of brewing it.

I just love when a beer thread goes Poli Board!

No way this one could have gone otherwise, I suppose.

yeah, and NB's use of the bicycle as an emblem makes the naming story more realistic. Not saying Oasis couldn't have come up with it independently.

That Grace & Grit tastes an awful lot like Pliny, bro. Nice work, but a little expensive at Cuban.

The two Rangers that i had after hiking from Taft Point to Glacier Point, then atop Sentinal Dome, were surely delicious. May have been the location and my thirst, though.

NB is employee owned, bro. It's like a Union shop. Go back to that bland, Corporate, soul crushing BL.
