Very interesting. Has anyone here tried this? Is it worth it?

I got really excited when I misread the OP as $25 as the price, not just being take off the price...

but I watch all the ChefSteps vlogs and they use sous vide on almost everything, which really makes me want to try it at home

I know a few people on here have this same one and it gets solid reviews for an entry level sous vide.

I'm about to pull the trigger...

ETA: But then I need to get a vacuum sealer right? What else do I need to invest in, a container I assume for the water.

Thanks for the reminder. I ran across that offer over the weekend and then forgot. Order placed.

Now to see how long it takes to arrive. I did not see an estimated ship date.

The Anova website has a video where the demonstrator is using a big pot, binder clips/clothespins, and ziplock... No special materials.

I have an anova. It's great. A vac sealer and cambro help a lot, but as LL stated are not necessary. You can use ziploc freezer bags and a stockpot.

I can't wait...I think this will make a good gift because nobody has them yet.

PS...I only got one. I wasn't going to sweat it because I was going to give as a gift.

I might have to jump on this for my mom for mother's day. She does a lot of vacuum sealing right now. I'll test the waters with her.

Deadspin has this ad today:

Use promo code ANOVAONE to get the Anova Sous-Vide Immersion Circulator for $99. That’s not only the cheapest this model has gone for but the cheapest Sous-Vide circulator we’ve ever seen.

And now I see on Twitter they have a Father's Day sale of $50 off with code LUVDAD.

At least I got the $25 off deal.

Thanks for the heads up. Great deal! I was about to buy another precision cooker with the LUVDAD promotion but went with the immersion circulator instead.
