Going down to New Orleans this weekend for a wedding and we are staying right there in the quarter. Planning on going down around noon and the wedding doesn't start till 7 so we will have some time to kill. Wondering what are some good places to have a few drinks that have an outdoor area or patio in that area? Looked at the forecast and it looks like Saturday is supposed to be really good weather.

None of these are in the Quarter, but all of them are better than the places cgrand listed in the Quarter.

OP:

Unfortunately the best spots to drink outside in NOLA are not in the FQ. If you can leave the FQ, some of those spots would be:

Bayou Beer Garden/Bayou Wine Garden in Midcity.
Bacchanal in the Bywater.
NOLA Brewery Taproom Uptown
MidCity Yacht Club
The Bulldog (Uptown and Lakeview)

In the FQ, I'm sure you'll be fine with a place like Pat O's. I'm sure that's what you're looking for anyway.

Not sure how I omitted them, but definitely one of the best. But also not in the FQ.

Napoleon House has a very quiet, private courtyard for having drinks and appetizers. Great atmosphere.

Also, most of the hotels in the FQ have nice rooftops or patio bars. The Roosevelt and Omni Royal Orleans, for example, are both decent.

In the general area, I second the Nail and Bacchanal. If you want to stay in the quarter, there's honestly nothing wrong with the Pat O's courtyard during the day.

Nothing helps a patio vibe like a 8 lane interstate passing overhead.
