New spot in Lake Charles: Sloppy's Downtown

Trying to broaden my reliable lunch spots in LC so went ahead and tried Sloppy's Downtown. Must say it was pretty good and it is in a great location.
Started off with Fresco & Pepper Fries. Fries were a little soft for my liking but they weren't soggy by any means. Queso fresco & the some crumbled feta cheese on top went well together.
My SO got the Loco Moco, which is a spiced up version of rice and gravy. Had 2 ribeye slider patties with a fried egg and cheese on top, served over a heap of white rice and brown gravy. She thouroughly enjoyed and I thought it was better than my dish.
I ordered the Arepas. It is a pan-fired corn pocket stuffed with braised pork, small cherry tomaotes, and cilantro. On top they drizzled some type of aoli sauce Id guess. The corn pocket was the star here, perfectly cooked and moist throughout. The braised pork was also wonderful. Came with an order of poblano fries.
Overall, it was good experience. I loved the atmosphere inside. For those who have been to Luna, just imagine it like that but in the beginning stages without all the collectibles and art. Also, didnt get to check it out but it looked like they had a bakery attached to it with cupcakes and other goods, maybe worth it to save room for dessert next time.
ETA: sorry about the picture size, cant figure how to make them smaller

gonna have to try it in the next few weeks for lunch. I pass every morning bringing my kids to school and was wondering when it would open.

It is on Broad St just a few hundred feet east of Ryan. Right next to Mama Retas

Looks good, will have to give it a try. Is it owned by the Sloppy Taco folks? Always looking for a new place to grub around here. Fiance and I finally ended our "best sushi not in a casino" search this weekend...at the mall.

Yes. Chef there was at Graywood Clubhouse for awhile, moved up to Portland, Oregon for a few years, and is now back doing this venture with the Sloppy Taco brothers.
