I've had a green mountain smoker for the past 6-7 years and it appears to be on its last legs. Whenever I bought it everyone seemed to be in love with them, but I honestly havent been impressed with their quality. Have had a number of issues with it over time and now the bottom seems to be eaten out of it. What are the best recommendations for a quality pellet grill that will last?

I’m in the same boat.

I’m getting a Traeger probably after the holidays.

I have a Recteq 340, use it weekly for over two years. Great cooker for a family of four, no issues. It will fit a packer brisket, three rack of ribs if you use a stand, or 10lb pack of chicken quarters. I think the legs fold in and one guy can throw it in the back of a truck, but I've never done that.

Disagree, when mine eventually breaks or burns through I'll be buying another ASAP.

I have a campchep xxl. It is almost like cheating. I do empty the pellets after every use, if you leave them in the smoker with stupid humidity they will swell and jam.

All About Charcoal Briquettes
Charcoal briquettes are made of leftover bits of wood and sawdust mixed with additives and then compressed to give them their defining pillow shape. You can purchase briquettes with many different types of additives that make them easier to light, smoke more, or infuse a particular flavor.

Many of these threads. Always comes down to budget. What's the budget Rooster?

Under $1k - Recteq or Grilla

Over $1k - Yoder or Pits & Spits

Rectec 700. Had mine for 2 years and still love it. Build like a tank.

I’ve had my gmg for four years and I hate the thing. I’ve taken it apart and rebuilt it so many times. Everything is rusted, the tube that feeds the pellets is always clogged, it’s just a big pain in the arse. I almost want to post a picture of it on gmg Facebook page and ask if this is what the grills are supposed to look like. I will say the customer service has always been great.

Damn, I haven’t had any of those issues. I did have my heating element go out and did have gaps in the lid. I emailed them and they sent me a new element and new lid. I think their warranty goes for five years, it’s awesome.

Yeah, I have had all of those same issues Farva. Pretty sure my temperature sensor has just gone out, which will be the second time I have had to replace. Had to change out an auger as well. The whole thing is rusted out. Their customer service is second to none, but it really sucks having to constantly change out parts and having everything rusted to hell.
