I am in search of a good BBQ restaurant in the Metairie area. Does anyone know where I can get good BBQ? Do not mention Moe's or Dickey's.

Metairie is large enough to have some good BBQ places. It’s weird that they don’t.

It's the land of chain restaurants. I don't think there is such a thing as a good chain BBQ restaurant.

Moe's probably does it the best for a chain bbq place

Years ago Luther's did a good job regardless of which restaurant - sorry to see them go

Zeas is a good option if you want ribs.

This. There ain't no reason to stay in Metairie when a 10 min drive takes you to great BBQ

It's more the issue that BBQ is difficult to package in a restaurant than a location issue. It requires tons of time to prepare, and determining the proper amount of meat per day is difficult. I don't think enough BBQrs want to invest in a difficult business plan nor put the time into it that's required. Most are already working careers and do this as a hobby.

The ones that do recognize that NOLA is their best spot to bring in customers, so they focus there.

Moe's does a pretty good job in Metry but the uptown location is better. Uptown brisket is good.

In a pinch, Metry Moe's is a good stop.
