I just got back from six days at th parks and we did all quick service meals.

First off, avoid the mass burger/nugget/hotdog serving places. These places just down right smell and the food is horrible.

Second, avoid dining at the resorts (cannot say this for the upper tier resorts, I don't know). If you need to eat at the resort, order a large pizza with everything, it comes with two drinks and two desserts, and only cost 2 QS meals (1 QS meal only gets you 2 slices). Th pizza is along the lines of Chuck E Cheese's (not great, but will do).

I found the best place to eat at any park was Star Bucks. They have great, fresh & hot sandwiches, plus it comes with any size drink.

At Magic Kingdom, Columbia House's Lobster Roll was pretty damn good, just the bread was a little stale.

"Be Our Guest" lunch service is QS but impossible to get into without a reservation. I heard it is really good.

At Hollywood Studio's, I found four places. First was Dockside. It only has three things and all three were good, a hotdog that will feed three people, macaroni & cheese w/pulled pork, and a veggie wrap that was fresh. Just DO NOT get the blue milkshake!!!

The other three places were kiosks on the other side of the lake from Dockside. One had sliders, one had empanadas, and one had nachos. All great but they close at 6pm for some stupid reason.

At Animal Kingdom, there is a BBQ place called Flame Tree BBQ, that has full rack ribs, or you can get combo chix/rib plate. It was very good and feed 2 adults easily.

At EPCOT, it a not brainer, eat at the World Showcase. We tried Norway, France, Mexico, & Japan, all great food. The dessert selection alone at France is worth the wait.
Earl of Sandwich at Disney Springs was great as well, but it has been mentioned here on the FDB many times.

***Edit***
The fish & chips in England were VERY good as well.

Don't forget to try the grapefruit beer in Germany!!!!

I worked there for 11 years. I know exactly what you mean.

I was never impressed with the counter service places outside of the World Showcase in Epcot, which is where I worked.

I really like the Lotus Blossum Cafe although I think they discontinued the Lotus Blossom combo which was fried rice, an egg roll and sweet and sour chicken. It was very good.

I agree with you about the Flame Tree bbq, that place is very good too.

Aside from that, it's the standard frozen fried chicken strips, fries, burgers, etc.

We quit doing the meal plan last time we went and I think we came out better. There is a calculator on some website, maybe mouse savers, where you can input the places you would usually go and it will estimate the difference between the meal plan or just paying cash.

Yet you took the time to post about it. Amazing.

In MK, Pecos Bill has some pretty decent Mexican food. EPCOT, there's always the countries but the food court in The Land is a nice spot for lunch. AK, Flame Tree all day errrrday. HS, I agree about Starbucks. Avoid the Commissary at all costs. That place is awful.

OP posts that the best place to eat during his resort vacation is a Starbucks and you don't think that's worthy of comment?

Their breakfast is far better than their lunch, IMO.

I think the one with the boat is table service (I may be wrong). We ate at the one across the street.

As for the people bitching about a WDW thread about their food, I'm just trying to help. Many people on this board go there and get the dining package. WDW is not a dining vacation, but with some knowledge, you can have some nice meals instead of nasty fair food.

The tequila cave there is pretty phenomenal.

I stayed at the AoA last fall and it had really good food. We used up just about all of our QS credits on the create your own pasta bowl. If you're staying at AoA or the nearby Pop Century, I highly recommed this place to eat.

We stayed at Pop Century, it just did not look good. We only at in the resort three times, one was the night we got there, one was the large pizza, and last was breakfast on the day we left. Just the smell of the place turned my stomach.

The first night we split a sesame chicken (horrible) and something else (I forget, but I do remember it was not good).

Like I said, the pizza was decent. The breakfast was good, just a little bland (like most of their stuff).

I meant that if you stay at Pop Century, AoA is just a short walk and their cafeteria is well worth the walk over.

Numbnuts, give me the down and dirty on AoA.
Is it as loud as others say?

When you're in the common areas, yeah, it's crowded and full of kids. But we were always at the parks until close and were always pretty late getting back to the hotel. I had no problems with noise once we got the room. The dining room was by far the busiest. The pool wasn't too bad but it was November and not too many people swimming.
I'd recommend it based on the theming along, as long as you have young kids. Staying there on an adults only trip might be a little weird.

We recently came back from our vacation there and can agree with you on avoiding regular burger, hotdog, etc food. We stayed at port Orleans riverside and the food court there was nasty. Pastries for breakfast only. Everything else was just bad, even the cokes are watered down heavy. I'll totally agree with pizza like a kids birthday place quality.

Animal Kingdom - yak and yeti
Pass and avoid. Like old Chinese food at a nasty buffet.

Magic kingdom - Pinocchio village haus
Subpar Italian pizza and chicken park sandwiches. Look elsewhere.

Typhoon lagoon - burger quality of tiger stadium...

Epcot - fish and chips were fantastic at the little shop they have. We also went during flower and garden fest and has awsome selections. Get some moose head lager in Canada on draft.

Hollywood - ABC commissary
Surprisingly not bad. We actually enjoyed it very much.

Disney springs - Giradeli chocolate shop
Be prepared to wait.... Pretty good though

My two cents. We are at some nice places also there all over the parks. If want some advice just ask me.

Food booths at Flower and Garden Festival were excellent. Brown Derby in Hollywood was great. Rose and Crown England always pretty good. Morimotos at Disney Springs was a great experience all around. Food court at Port Orleans Riverside consistently above average create your own pasta and shrimp salad favs. The restaurant there also has GREAT prime rib and you can get it rare. Port Orleans French Quarter food court is terrible in comparison IMO. Mexico sit down inside the main pavilion as well as the tequila cave are much better than either sit down or quick serve restaurant on the lagoon there.
