Yep, Chimes and Sammy's are always recommended. Why? Neither one is anything special.

5 Guys. I hear alot of people say they're ok, but not the best they've ever had, compared to the hype they get.

Chimes is pretty average but still better than the frozen corporate crap that litters all over Baton Rouge.

I don't understand the love for Flemings, either. Both times I've gone it has been really bad.

More for the beer probably. Although I do like Chimes food.

This. I've never left there and been disappointed with what I ate.

No, but people always tell others visiting LSU "you have to go eat at the Chimes"

I hear this more for Walk-Ons than Chimes, and the food at Walk-Ons is shite. Unless they've had a major makeover, the service has been shite too.

Flemings > Ruth's Chris. I've been 4 times, every time was fantastic.

I'd agree there - never thought it was anything special.

You know whats not overrated? The Cajun Turkey w/ Zapps and a 32oz drink for $6 at the American Market grocery store at the corner of Nicholson and Lee.

I'll say Ruffino's as well. Maybe just not my cup of tea, but I wasn't all that impressed.

TJ Ribs, Any decent BBQ place would destroy that restaurant. Conveniently for them, they are located in a town with bad BBQ.

Is this the right board for this? But I'll play along. Is the restaurant with the South America theme style food menu, still open? Its a buffet or something like that. IMWTK.
