A word of advice for anyone heading to the Destin Area any time soon. Avoid this place like the plague. We had the misfortune of eating here a couple of days ago. We had a large group, but most restaurants had easily accommodated us. Mitchell's split us up into two tables. No biggie. The place had a strong sewer smell right when you walked in the door, not sure what that was about, but it wasn't the way to start the evening. We had several kids with us, so we ordered their food first thinking it would arrive before ours. Wrong! In fact one kids dinner, fettuccine Alfredo, came out after everyone was nearly finished and it had no Alfredo sauce on it. Fish dishes were all over cooked, and the pasta dishes were underwhelming at best. One dish was supposed to have angel hair and came out with fettuccine. Waiter said "oh I guess the kitchen is freelancing tonight". Not very reassuring. In the end they took off the kids pasta, but wow what a terrible experience. Didn't realize this place was part of the Landry's group before hand. Should have researched it a little more.
TL;DR
Mitchell's sucks don't waste your money

Hey jerk face, how about giving us a report on the other places you all went to?

I had dinner there, once. He's right, it's that bad and the nasty smell as you walk in is accurate.

Consider it a PSA.

Well if you insist, meal of the week was Marlin Grill in Baytown. Killer service, fantastic cocktails, and huge variety on the menu. It is everything Mitchell's is not.

Why did you continue if the place smelled like a sewer? That would have been enough for me to leave.

To counterbalance, I've probably eaten at that Mitchell's 5 times in the last 3 years or so with ratings from average to pretty good. Not since November or so, however.

Never experienced the smell issue, nor food coming out at different times, though I can recall some clueless but otherwise decent service.

90% of our time down there is in the offseason though, so that could also be part of it.

We ate there twice about 3 and 4 years ago and really had a great meal. Everything seemed very fresh, good service, ect.
We went last summer and it was terrible. Everything tasted frozen, prices went up, terrible waiter.

Come to find out Ruth Chris sold it to Landrys at the beginning of last year. Go figure.
I agree with "avoid this place like the plague". Any Landrys owned restaurant for that matter.
