I was terribly disappointed in the quality of the sushi at Mikimoto's on Carrollton last night. I don't know if there is a new owner or manager, but it just was off and didn't taste fresh.

Then, I got home and almost immediately had "stomach distress".

Has anyone eaten there recently? How was your experience?

What makes you think they caused the sickness?

I ate there a few days ago. Seafood salad and various nigiri. Everything was fresh and very good.

If you're in doubt staring at a plate of questionable sushi, never eat it.

Fwiw, I've had plentry of immediate trips to the bathroom after sushi that looked fantastic. Raw fish can do it whether it's fresh or not.

Food poison does not show itself for a couple days. You wouldn't be sick a couple hours later

It is both. Within a couple hours or even up to a week.

I ate a raw oyster at Acme in Destin and the second it went down I knew it was bad. Two hours later it hit me bad. A phenergan suppository brought me back in a hurry.

Sushi in Nola is generally speaking just not very good. Surprising since it's such a good food city otherwise

Bay leaf is really good Indian food. And as mentioned food poisoning in extreme cases can manifest within a couple hours but usually it's within a 12 hour window that you'll be peeing from your butt and even bleeding from their with the right bacterial strand.

Dude, this made me chuckle so much. Stick to wine, you are really good at that.

I'm well seasoned in the food industry for 15 years. Seen both sides, been food poisened and had someone claim they had food poisoning from the restaurant I was running at the time.

Some foodborne illnesses can show signs in a few hours(someone dresses their staph and then your poboy), but most bacterial infections(ie ecoli) take a day or two to infect.

When I had a fbi years ago the Heath dept called and asked me about a hundred questions. If you test positive by your doctor they are required to contact the department of health.

Serious food poisoning is somewhat rare, most of the time it's viral, alcohol or prescription drugs related to your sickness.
