Rio Grande or Cancun for messican. Midland Beer Garden for craft beer. A Browning Over/Under to blow your head off after a couple of days there.

Easily Cork & Pig Tavern. Great pizzas.

Right in between Odessa and Midland.

Lil Woodrow's opened a location in Midland a few months back. By far the best draft selection I've seen out there. They even had Brash on draft a month ago.

Oh...and if you're out there for Permian oilfield issues and can justify a drive up to Carlsbad, LaCumbre Elevated and Bosque IPA are waiting for you. Hobbs too.

I'm at Woodrow's right now

But yeah it's the best beer selection I've found over here. Food is pretty shitty. Reminds me a lot of walk ons

I ended up in Pecos...

But I'll be spending a lot of time out here (Abilene, Midland, Carlsbad, Hobbs, etc) the next 3 weeks so I'll keep the recs in mind

My sources say Woodrow's is better. I'm headed up weekend after this for a road trip wedding south of Midland

not food and drink but check out Balmorhea State park about 45 minutes from Pecos and the Mcdonald Observatory if you have time. Balmorhea state park is one of the best swimming holes in Texas

Pecos is horrible. There is a good Mexican place on 285/Cedar and 10th. Little mom and pop, can't remember the name. I work out of Fort Stockton and spend some time in Midland and Monahans as we have offices there.
