The Pit Room, El Tiempo, Torchy's, or Ninfa's on Navigation.

Ninfas on Navigation. The Hereford beef is outstanding. Everything is good there. Pisses me off we don't have good Mexican like that over here where I live.

The frick? You can't be serious. There are 38 Mexican restaurants in Houston that are better than this.

Hugo's is awesome. So is Picos. Ninfas is good and really close to the stadium.

Don't get "basic" Mexican dishes here. Go for the pork shank, soft shell crabs or one of the stews

He named a handful of other restaurants as well. Torchy's is great if you want a fast casual meal you can't get in most places. Nobody is claiming it's the greatest restaurant in Houston.

Sure, there are better places than Torchy's in Houston if you want acutal Mexican food. But I'm not going to suggest Hugo's or Caracol to someone coming in this weekend for a Sunday brunch knowing God damned good and well they'll never be able to get a reservation.

Nor am I going to send them to the back of Canino's Market to hit Taqueria Tacambaro, or out to the East Side to El Regio, or even to Tierra Caliente if they have one meal in Houston.

I'm going to fricking recommend something accessible and easy to get to for an out of towner.

But please...tell me more about your list of 38 places, I'd be interested in reading it.

No it's not. Ninfas on Nav or El tiempo are acceptable answers and close to the juice box. They both have great brunch also.

If BBQ is what you seek, The Pit Room, as others have stated. Best BBQ in Houston.

Is there a difference between Ninfas on Navigation and other locations? There is another one near the hotel I will be staying at.

Navigation is the OG and acts like the OG.

Yes. They go out of their way to say they are not affiliated with the others. I think there was a family breakup, squabble or something like that. Those other Ninfas don't come close to the food they are serving up on Navigation.
