Here's my two cents: Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous for ribs, Bar-B-Q Shop for pulled pork and barbecue spaghetti.

I like Bar-B-Q Shop's dry ribs of all the places I've been to in Memphis, but I'm far from a rib maven, so YMMV.

Interstate has good pulled pork and great sides but if I'm going to Memphis Gus's Fried Chicken is where I'm headed first.

If you like chicken, I usually tell people to go to Central or the Germantown Commissary.

Several places have good ribs, but if you've never been to the Rendezvous I would say you have to go there just for the atmosphere.

The BBQ Shop is probably my all around favorite, and they have really good sauce if you like sauce. I love the bbq bologna and cheese plate

Cozy Corner, Tom's, Interstate are some other good spots depending on what part of town you are in.

Do not go to Corky's

Bookmarking because I'm heading up there to get away during Mardi Gras. Definitely looking forward to Gus' fried chicken

Gotta go to Gus' fried chicken. That's pretty much all I've got.

Central BBQ.

Jamaican Jerk wings as an app and then their pulled pork sandwich with the sweet hot BBQ. It's a spicy BBQ sauce infused with a Caribbean flare of seasoning and a blend of scotch bonnets.

Memphis born and raised.

Rendezvous is a must if you have never been. Germantown commissary is another great spot.

I would also not miss Gus's Fried Chicken. Simply the best.

Central is good. The ribs were great!

But just go to Gus's, eat the fried chicken and enjoy the orgasm in your mouth!

The people who don't like Memphis BBQ are usually partial to TX style BBQ. 2 totally different regions. I would suggest Paynes for pork sandwich and Central for ribs. Although not BBQ, Gus's has awesome fried chicken.

Memphis BBQ is quite overrated, imo. However, it's worth trying. That being said, BBQ Shop and Central BBQ are the best of the bunch.

Gus's, however, is incredible.
