I have never thought that highly of Marcello's, but there are some forthcoming closures that are going to hurt.

Bayona was “at capacity” last week when I went. Booked up a week or two in advanced on Resy when I made the reservation

They own that building, that helps

Didn’t even realize they reopened. That one didn’t make sense to me.

That’s good to know. Someone gave me a gift card in April and I wasn’t able to use it yet.

Are you insane? You apparently want to kill grandma and grandpa. There is no way we can reopen anything until we are completely certain that no one will ever get Rona again, ever. Until such time, keep it shut down.

Maybe people just didn't think it was funny because it's such an obvious joke at this point.

How do you know they’re closing?

For starters the rotisserie is gone, the building is painted, the Bordeaux sign has been replaced, and there was a sign out front advertising for new jobs.

The new sign is just a flame. Looks kind of like the logo from el fuego down the street.

Someone should be making bank at that location right now.

Exactly. And farther from Latoya.

No fan of Latoya but they could go to phase 3 or 4 tomorrow and 30% of restaurants in NOLA would close anyway. 2-3 years of low business meetings and no conventions will thin the heard.

Correct. The damage is done.

Also, it’s unfortunate to see the crime rising again. NOLA just surpassed their homicide total of last year and we are only in September.

Seems like petty crime is on the rise too.

Ouch. You really think it’ll be that long?

No, I don't think it will be 3 years. I hope not, but this is fricking crazy.

2 years maybe to get back to conventions roaring, bachelor parties, big weekends, etc... is probably a pipe dream. 3 years maybe more likely.

The big convention business is so critically, and sadly in a bigger macro economic view, important to so many restaurants. Until that comes back it’s gonna be very tough if you don’t own the building.
