I'll be in Chicago this weekend for a conference. Anybody know where the LSU bar is in Chicago?

And where is the best, non-tourist deep dish pizza?

Standard Bar and Grill. It's out in Wicker Park, Milwaukee and Paulina.

Burt's Place is apparently incredible, though it's in the Burbs, not the city.

I'd do Lou Malnati's, if you are staying in the city.

Good stuff!!!

Have you ever watched a game there? Do they usually pack it out?

Every week,

Umm, last week was fricking nuts packed. But this week, I bet it will be pretty empty considering the opponent.

Good food, and they really try to please the LSU crowd (kicked everyone out of the bar this past weekend that wasn't there for the LSU game).

I watched a game at gamekeepers before, not standard bar and grill. If was a blast, played all the fight songs and even had Abita on tap.

Definitely felt like he over there.

Edit: thought it was standard bar and grill, but actually gamekeepers.

Are these bars easily accessible from downtown? Will a cab ride cost me 50 bucks?

If so, what bars do you suggest watching the Western Kentucky game?

to gamekeepers it's prob around $20. Go to gamekeepers. I've been going there for 10 years until I had my son. fun place and I'm sure it'll be packed regardless of it being WK. have fun

Just changed this year.

But I think GK still shows LSU games. But they may not this week since it won't be on a national broadcast...

Yes, easily accessible.

From downtown, cab won't be more than $20, I suspect.

eta: I haven't watched a single game at Gamekeeper's this year, because they changed locations of the Alumni bar, but I'd recommend going to the Standard, because I know for sure there will be LSU people there.

It's not far from where I live, I need to get over there. Almost went a couple of weeks ago, but opted for something else.

Who is apparently out of the loop...

Don't know why you are being rude about it.

The official Alumni Bar changed. You can check the Alumni Website if you want.

If you enjoy watching GameKeepers, well then, so be it. It's right by where I live. It's a cool dive, but typically overrun with fans from dozens of teams and has shoddy food.

Standard is a nicer bar, and catering specifically to LSU fans and LSU fans only.
