high price point was because of the distributor??

Reform of distribution laws and processes cannot come fast enough for Louisiana.

Gnarly Barley Jucifer IPA - I agree with Matisyeezy on this one,
quote:

Jucifer is green and a little thin in the flavor department. Hopefully in a week it'll open up and that will address that. It's definitely a good beer, but I wouldn't say great.

Urban South Modillion - Haven't had it yet

Bayou Teche A Giant Hop for Mankind - Not very good

Tin Roof Voodoo - Very solid for a pale ale at 5%. Nothing special, but it will be in my rotation for the summer and tailgating.

Tin Roof DDH Juke Joint - Smells rancid, but the taste was okay. Regular juke joint is better.

Tin Roof NEIPA (saw it in the FBD thread) - I posted it. Probably the best of all these beers you listed. It's still not where it needs to be to compete against the Parish beers, but it was very good for a test batch. Hopefully it will get tweaked in a good direction and produced on a larger scale.

NOLA Syncopation - Haven't had it yet, but excited to try it.

Parish DH Envie to the nth power (we all know this is good) - Haven't had this one yet either, but I have heard the great reviews.

As an aside earlier, I had an Envie recently and it tasted watered down. Has anybody else had one of these lately and thought it lacked the taste it used to have. It was really light. I know its a pale ale, but it used to have a little more hop flavor

NOLA Syncopation was released in cans this morning at the source. It'll be all over town soon. It's a great beer. Highly drinkable and will be a staple in the fridge. It's well-balanced and has the color of a dogfish head IPA but a great hop flavor. Honesty, I did like some of the 00x batches better as they were more juicy beers versus the west coast balance. But that's just my preference. I prefer the haze.

I'll agree that it's better than it looks.

It's not going to supplant Envie as my daily drinker, and I prefer Jucifer as a canned option. If we keep getting fresh Jucifer that will fulfill my outdoor drinking needs, with Envie being optimal for everything else.

That's an "if," obviously.

Funny, I thought DDH Juke Joint was much better than the NEIPA. Aroma was much stronger and the hop flavor more pungent. Though the NEIPA probably would have opened up in a week or two, as those beers tend to do.

Urban South Modillion - Haven't had it yet. Saw it for $14/4-pack and kept walking. I will purchase at the new price to give it a try

Bayou Teche A Giant Hop for Mankind - Not good. Idk why Teche keeps struggling with IPAs. Swamp Thing is average at best as well

Tin Roof Voodoo - Something I would definitely sip on this summer and light years better than it's predecessor so I commend them for that.

Tin Roof DDH Juke Joint - This was terrible. The aroma was awful and the taste was bad as well. The original JJ 2.0 showcases it's hops pretty well and the addition of calypso hops for dry hopping was a horrible idea. Back to the drawing board boys

Tin Roof NEIPA (saw it in the FBD thread) - This was my favorite beer of the evening. Had a great fruitful and hoppy flavor with body. Agree with the other poster that letting this one sit a week or so would have done it some justice. They are getting somewhere with this recipe

NOLA Syncopation - Haven't had it yet

Parish DH Envie to the nth power (we all know this is good) - I am never lucky enough to try nor do I feel like driving way the F out to Broussard to get some either, i'll leave that to the fanboys

Edited with my thoughts

Went to Tin Roof to try the NE IPA but they were out. So I tried the DDH Juke Joint. It's wasn't that bad. It was a bit bland and with a sweet mango like aroma. Certainly not what I expected and I probably wouldn't get it again. I expect that they'll scrap the recipe (Calypso hops) and try again.

So what happens with Brightside now? It was running around $11 for a 4-pack and now Jucifer is less than that for a 6-pack.

Side by side it's Jucifer by a mile IMHO.

Hopefully 6 packs and cheaper. I like it better than Jucifer for some reason
