I admire your restraint.

The Mr. Taco on Airline at Barringer Foreman has both dry and wet tamales. I prefer wet.

Didn't the Ice House folks buyout the original Mr Taco owners? Has the food changed any?

Didn't notice any change in the food, picked up breakfast tacos there Friday. I did notice the hours changed, they used to open at 8 AM, now it's 6:30 AM

Didn't know that. I know the old man made the wet tamales and they are as good as any I've had. But I have not been in a few months.

I'm not a huge fan of Doe's hot tamales. They're good, but not even the best in Greenville... When you leave Doe's go to the HWY 82/ HWY1 intersection, turn on 82 eastbound, and about a half mile down the road, on the north side of the road, there's a drive thru called Hot Tamale Heaven that are incredible.

Delta Hot Tamale Festival is this coming weekend by the way.

Had Mr. Taco on Tuesday for the first time in a while. The tacos were delicious as always. They were out of tamales so I can't offer an opinion.

ETA I like them dry and wet.

Taco truck across from Home Depot on Calliope for shredded beef.

The Mamacitas tamales that make the rounds from Northshore, Chalmette, Metairie, and Uptown.

Not bad perspective. I don't eat a ton of tamales but I just know that I get em every time I eat at Does. Pretty good to me and my entire family likes em...chili is a must

Yeah, they're definitely good. There's just better options out there, IMO. And, when I go, it's usually just me and the fiance', so I don't want too many tamale's to get in the way of my steak , so we just stop by Hot Tamale Heaven on the way home and then I have lunch for the next day.

In the past, there were many folks in Natchitoches that made tamales and meat pies in their home. They were everywhere. Now the meat pies seem to all be made in Coushatta including some of Laysones and the tamales are seemingly non-existant. I called the Chamber, got two names but neither responded to email or telephone.
