And it is getting ready to move to Govt Street.

I ate a Dixie Maid cheeseburger today and I don't eat near as many burgers as I used to so when I do I make it count. And count it did. Man it was good.

Belleu's on Scenic Hwy.

Its a smokehouse and has a huge selection of Cajun food. Staff gives out free samples of fried or smoked.

I didn't know Bellue's was still around. If no one signs up for cornbread dressing at work thanksgiving, I'll get some from there

I am already making too many things.

Tacos & Burritos Express (a.k.a. "Burrito") at Burbank & Gardere.

ABSOLUTELY! Looks sketchy as can be from the outside, but the food was good, cheap, and make sure you get a Coke--it's the one's that are exported to Mexico that contain real sugar and not that high fructose corn syrup crap.

I thought someone told me it was actually named Dos Hermanos...either way the sign out front says "Burrito"

Definitely. They have probably one of the most diverse menus you can find. I've tried many of the different cuisines and they're all good and all have a nice "south Louisiana" influence to them.

There is also a location on Sharp and Fla Blvd. The lunch special on Sunday is fantastic.

Is it Willie's restaurant and Bar or Willies chicken and waffles?

Has Pimanyoli's been mentioned. Do we even consider that a gem? BR doesn't really have much in the BBQ scene.

Well so far I've been to every place mentioned.

You have to dig a little deeper for that true diamond in the ruff.

Like this dude BBQ and burgers are some of the best ever.

He's on N 22 between Florida & North Blvd.

I literally eat in a different city at a different place everyday. I always ask the locals, or seek places like that or some hole in wall.
They're always the best.
