Apparently happened last week. Searched and saw no mention here.

Sign is up and Marty J's hoping to open by April 15th.

He is opening in that location as well?
Dude better step up his food. I've given him 2 chances... nothing special about anything on that menu.
I actually thought leroys wasn't bad. It was "heavy" food, but wasn't bad at all. Plus they had a decent beer selection.

Thank God. Leroys got me, my girlfriend, and one of my buddy's all sick on separate occasions.

They always seemed to have a good crowd whenever I went though

Why'd you go back after the second person getting sick?

That's unfortunate. Wasn't the best chicken ever, but when I wanted to gorge myself silly at lunch, it hit the spot.

Perhaps when local BR places stop trying to be a concept before all else, they will start to have more than 2-3 years of staying power.

That's it.

It was close to the house and a good spot for a nearby meal, but every time we went, I halfway expected to see a closed sign....

Spot is jinxed

I want to like Marty J's, although I'm with you, I just wasn't real impressed.

That spot seems to be awful for business.

Opening up a second location without really getting the first location established in this community seems like a huge gamble, especially considering the location of the 2nd location.

I stopped by Marty J's on Perkins on Monday looking to buy some specialty meat products. Despite the advertising the sale of specialty meats, Marty J's does not have any in stock. Their entire inventory appeared to consist of crawfish and boudin. I asked when they would begin selling specialty meat products, and none of the employees could give me an answer other than "I don't know."

ETA: location of store

I think they will focus on that when crawfish season is over... They are slinging some crawfish

It was always busy when I went and it seemed to have a good bit of fanfare when it opened, but I haven't been in BR in almost a year so I could be wrong as to its following.
