I don't mind paying a few extra dollars for limited supply beers but taking a $13 four pack of Opus Vert and selling them individually for $5 is ridiculous. They did the same thing with the 10/31 enjoy by. $15 retail 6 pack and they chose to sell them individually for $4 a beer. I'll never buy another beer from them.

It was bottled last week and has made it to stores this week it seems.

It's good. Not even close to $5/bottle good. On top of that I'll drink Envie over it 9 out of 10 times.

Agree completely. Especially if I have to worry about where to run out and buy it.

Then don't buy the product

It will sell for what the market decides

I am not seeing the issue here

which is very sad

I suspect that quality will go down a decent bit from that current fraiche mart

I didn't and won't buy any product from them again. I choose to spend my money on the stores around BR that don't rip loyal customers off.

I prefer Envie but OV isn't a bad beer. I bought a 4 pack at Audubon Market in St Francisville for ten bucks of the last batch. I'll pay that.

I'm getting a little butt hurt too over stores that do this, Oak Point in Central being one. Fullers Porter is only sold individually for $1.99 a bottle. All they do is take it out the carton and place it on the shelf, where you put it back in a generic carton and end up paying $2 or $3 more a six pack. Screw that.

Also, it ticks me off that Chimes East upcharges beer by $1 an imperial pint over the Highland location. I'd rather go to Highland, but Chimes east has charbroiled oysters.

Not a fan of this either. There's enough Opus that came to BR that they shouldn't have to resort to these tactics. I don't mind paying a little more for a single bottle versus a 4 or 6-pack price for being able to try a beer without committing to several more of them. But this is taking it to a new level. I bought a couple 4-packs last night elsewhere for $11.99. That would get me 2 bottles at LeBlanc's.

This probably helps offset the lost revenue from the "late night crowd."

It's stupid can can't blame them for trying to make a couple bucks off the parish obsession.

I bet people would pay 30-35 bucks for a ghost 4 pack

Is Rouses going to continue the craft beer department when they make the transition?

I love that LeBlancs, I'm pissed it got sold.

I'm with you. It sucks that some stores decide to operate this way, but in the end, if enough fools are willing to pay $5 per bottle of a single IPA, then LeBlanc's is merely being capitalists.

If they don't sell their allotment due to this, I would assume they may not be allowed any the next batch??

Agreed, the bakery and meat department at LeBlancs is much better than Rouses. Very disappointed in this. Everytime I'm in BR for a bit, it's a great change of pace from crappy HEB's here in Austin.

LeBlancs also is the only store in town that sells their 12-packs of soft drinks for less than $5, even when not on sale. I want to say they're $2.98.

a "rip off" would be if you bought a bottle of opus vert only to find it was a re-labled coors light. what you have described is the free market at work, which is the backbone of the american experiment

why do you hate america?
