The real Mecca is just a short drive away. Kennerbrah has all the chains Metairie wishes they had.

I lived in Laplace for a month over the summer with a family member while our house was being worked on.

The sad fact was that the La Carreta is probably the best thing in Laplace, and that location is abysmal.

Hence my rec. I've eaten it a few times because it's all that's there. It's no worse than any other run of the mill Tex mex joint you find in xxx, USA. Better than a bunch. Fairly talented wait staff too

Thank friends.

If you don't feel like driving up to Manchac stay in LaPlace and head to Wayne Jacob's Smokehouse for dinner. They're open for dinner on Thursday and Friday nights only. I've never had dinner there but they always do a good job with lunch.

If you don't feel like middendorfs, there is a seafood shack next door to middendorfs called fat boys that is damn good. I actually find their fish to be better than M's
