Bringing the family to Christmas in the Oaks tonight.

Looking for a good casual restaurant to stop at before we head to the park.

Any Suggestions?

Either eat in mid city or go to Metairie - far better options.

I don't think my three year old will be allowed in a bar.

MidCity has far better dining options and is closer to Celebration in the Oaks, so I'm not sure why you would go to Lakeview.

Lakeview:
District Donuts/Sliders/Brew
Mondo
I don't know, maybe Blue Crab or something.

MidCity:
Toups
Blue Oak BBQ
Frey Smoked Meats (Blue Oak is superior but I liked Frey more than others on here and they have some interesting options)
MoPho
Bevi Seafood
Katie's
Parkway

Should have given you recs - my bad. But what has been suggested are the same I would.

I'll add Venezia and get a cannoli at brocatos after.

All good options. I'll throw out Mid-City Pizza to add to the list.

It's a safe area, just like any where you should be looking around though.

Yes. Another spot close to Katie's is Liuzza's on Bienville.

Buy your tickets online right now. Ticket lines were insane 10 days ago.

Go to Toups Meatery.

It's New Orleans. Always keep your head on a swivel. Katie's is a good choice.
