No shite. Social, Ruffinos, would have a good atmosphere before the concert. Agree with the good food at Marcello's. Half shell is just another chain in Lafayette.

LaFonda

I want drinks before a concert, with apps or light food. I don't want to sit in a little seat with a belly full.

Given the festive occasion, I'd go to Lafonda before, too.. It'll be nuts in there before GB.

I never hear anything about iMonelli. Has anybody eaten there in the recent past? It's been years for me.

Their marquee sign has spooked me.

When I first moved to Lafayette, I would drive by and I'm guessing for over six months, the sign said that they were featuring three fresh fish, mahi and two others. Glances at the parking lot made me question how they can keep the same three "fresh" fish fresh for that long of a time. The turnover equation didn't make sense. Although I don't know for sure, my guess was that there was a freezer involved.

When they finally changed the sign, it read "Now hiring bartenders, servers and hostesses" and that sign was up for a very long time, which to me is a red flag that the place might be a train wreck.

I remember when Fratelli's had a sign that said "World's greatest pizza". I think that's the reason I never ate there.

Ruffinos is an odd mix of steak and Italian. (Only place I've seen do that successfully is Mr. John's in NOLA). High end prices and clientele. All of the food is pretty good, overpriced, and better obtained at Marcello's for Italian, and Ruth's for steaks
