for some reason, i'm not a fan of scotch. I love bourbon, and rye, but I just can't get into scotch.

Looks like it's only around $30, if I see any, I may give it a shot.

Macallen 12 year is a great scotch if you aren't a fan of peaty scotch. It runs about $50 a bottle though.

It was the first Scotch I really liked, but the Balvenie Caribbean Cask blows it away. Highly recommended!

Agreed I like the Caribbean cast a little better than the Doublewood
Speaking of Triplewood, the Laphroaig triplewood is pretty damn good as well.

As a long-standing bartender and alcoholic with access to try everything I've long considered this the best dollar-for-dollar Scotch around. If I weren't currently drunk I wouldn't have let y'all in on that little secret.

Agreed. Opened my first bottle this past Christmas and it won me over at first sip. It will now have a permanent place in my liquor cabinet.

No it's not. Plenty of Scotches out there with low peatiness.

I had Balvenie double wood a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it.

My favorite mid-range scotch that I've tried is Glenmorangie Lasanta. $40 bottle, iirc. 12 year scotch finished in sherry casks. Adds an unexpected, yet really tasty, sweetness to it. It'd be really easy to pound it.
