I'd founder myself if I was in driving distance. Years ago, the four of us, and the two boys being under the age of 16, knocked out around 14 pounds in a sitting. We might have had a pound or so in leftovers.

You can get lobster at Restaurant Depot for $5.99 a lb. for 1.5 and below, or $9.99 a lb. for over 1.5 lbs.

24*1.5*5.99=$215, not including you have to have access and dive time. Now if you lived close and were cooking for just a person or two, that might be a good option...

Just to compare but I was in Kennebunk Port Maine last week and bought 1 lb lobsters for $6.99 and 1.5 lb for $9.99/lb. right on the port so it sounds like this guy has insanely good prices.

I had asked him once why were his prices so good. He said there are so many lobsters being caught there the price has dropped out so it went to shipping them.

A couple of years ago the lobster fisherman were getting $1 lb at the dock, that is what got me searching for cheap lobsters and I found this guy...

used to do lostergram or some national company like that. was absurdly priced. had special deal with amex, so made it a little cheaper, but think it worked out to about 35/lobster. but they were 2.5lbs.

might try this guy. thanks for posting.

Dumb question. Are they alive when they show up? Could you freeze some for another day?

Yes they are alive. No you do not want to freeze them. A lobster is just like crabs/crawfish in that it should be cooked while alive. They will last a few days in the boxes depending on how strong they are. Hard shells will last longer than new/half shells.

Just put the knife in the brain quick. No squirming, just like in NOLAGT's photo...

IF they didn't want to be coked and eaten, they shouldn't taste so good...

Tails =/= Whole Lobsters

That yummy meat will go bad in the body, legs and claw.

That's my guess.

I'm sure you could harvest the tail and freeze it, but you paid for a whole, live lobster. Prep it that way...you paid for the luxury.

I'm sure you could cook them, then freeze the tails if you want to, but I figured the person was asking if you could freeze the lobsters right out the box
