Personally, I prefer Fat Pat's and Max's.

What say you, F&D Board? Also, those of you lucky enough to eat at the places listed for other states, YEA or NAY?

ETA: That green chile cheeseburger from the joint in New Mexico looks pretty damn good.

I've never been to Judice Inn.

I've been to Burger Up in Nashville. It's good, but The Pharmacy is better.

They have fooled many people, for many years.

It's not the best burger in La. But, I dig the place, and their inclusion on this list seems to make sense, just scrolling through the types of places they were choosing in other states.

I don't think Judice Inn is bad. Haven't eaten there in about 10 years or so, but remember the burgers being decent. Expensive as hell for the size, but decent.

However, hands down I would take that double with cheese and grilled onions stack of goodness from Max's any day over Judice.

No way it's the best. Burgers without fries is just un-American.

That's the best burger in Louisiana, really? It doesn't look appetizing.

Thanks.
Nearly $7.00 for a meat patty, condiments, lettuce, onion, bun, and a bag of chips, with a small bottled Coke.
I'm amazed that they still get away with it.

I went to Judice Inn a few years ago, expecting to be blown away.

What I got was a very meh burger.

I know the place has been around forever so I'm guessing it's living off of its extended history.

I can't imagine ever ordering a $3 hamburger ANYWHERE with the expectation of being "blown away."

We went there for the first time Saturday night. That was a damn good burger. Best one in Louisiana? I dunno, but I think it should be in the discussion.

It's a good burger. I love going there. Maybe because my dad always took me as a kid and his dad took him? But I know it's not the best in LA. I guess it depends what you're scoring is based on. But there are better burgers out there.

It's a Lafayette tradition and i think there's a high nostalgia factor associated with the place, and with the burger. If you grew up in Lafayette eating them, odds are you like them and it's a reference point for you. I grew up eating them, my parents grew up eating them, and so on.

I think it's silly to try to characterize a "best" burger given the variety of styles of burgers that are out there. Smashburger, In'n Out, Five Guys, Shake Shack, etc, are all really good for what they are, and each is different in its own way. I'm not sure it's a useful exercise to try and determine which is "best".
