Yes. Friends took me recently. It's all good, nice portions, great menu, great prices, great staff, and obviously a strong chef. Let you order half & halfs at night, which some BR establishments only do for lunch..solid soups, the Rocket sauce poboys are strong..

A clear cut above the others of the same genre in that area of town(Jones Creek Oyster Bar, Dempseys, etc..). And dare say above most in this genre in BR(yet just below Parrain's, etc..)

Thanks. I've been to Parrain's and liked it. I am
looking for similar.

I must have gone on bad days the 6 or 7 times that I tried Jasmines and found it to be extremely average at best.

I think its very average. Its good to have a different place to go but I would rather eat at City Cafe, Dempseys or Jones Creek Cafe instead for simular food.

City Cafe is back in my good graces...Their Tuesday night special, chargrilled oysters are yummy. Their new place with the patio is really nice and the people that work their are great.

For me, it would have to be dish vs dish, and/or price/portion considerations. As all have some edges over each other in these regards.

I find little to like at JCOB sans soft shell crab.

On a side note, unless something has changed recently Jasmines is BYOB only.

City Cafe has made recent strides with their move, the oysters,etc..

Their specials, poboys, burgers, onion rings, etc..some in seemingly nicer portion compared to recent years?

Thanks. That's important info. I like a cold beer with my seafood. What are some good alternatives?

Grab a nice bottle of wine at Alberston's just down the road and enjoy it there with the food, and yes they have a corkscrew and glasses. It's a quaint little place to chill and enjoy some finger food. The boudin balls (spell check actually flags boudin???...jeez) were pretty good as was some other app I don't remember(it's been a while), but I remember not liking that rocket shrimp thing that people rave about here. WAY too much mayo.

They are BYOB? And 80 cent chargrilled oysters? Don't tease me.
