Little Saigon is opening a 2nd location where Chinese Combo King was.

This is awesome news. I usually only eat Saigon Noodles, but it was closed last Wednesday, so I went to Little Saigon instead.. which ended up delivering the best Vermicelli bowl I've ever had.

How long have we been saying LSU needs Vietnamese? WOOOOOO!

Nice, I liked CCK, but this sounds much better.

No idea. I don't really eat over there anymore (other than Chimes) since I'm not in school, but it is exponentially closer than Florida Blvd. as long as I go during a time when there's a place to park.

CCK was good, but Viet > Chinese for me.

This is awesome news!

I didn't care for CCK and the area badly needs a good Vietnamese option.

Little saigon has been my spot for a few years.

When i walk in they know exactly what my 4 year old and i want.

If i go without her, they always ask where she is.

I hope they dont dumb it down for the college crowd.

Drunken Fish isn't Vietnamese?

I always thought that an upscale Vietnamese restaurant (something more like Magasin, Mint, MoPho) could do well around the LSU campus.

I've never been because I've always been told it isn't nearly as good as the places on Florida Blvd.

Saigon proved you wrong back in the early 2000s.

I wasn't around then. Besides, Saigon's failure in the early 2000s isn't representative to today's trends. Vietnamese food is exploding everywhere you go.

Somebody beat me to it....Saigon did okay for a while near campus, I don't recall how long it lasted. It was decent if a bit dumbed down. Glad to see another Viet place open up in the campus area.

When I first read the thread title, I thought the OP meant a place actually ON campus. That would be awesome.

Finally? Drunken Fish has been there for years

But this will be fantastic to have another option.

This is one of the Florida places? Oh hell yes.

Like I said, I've never heard good things about DF.. And honestly, I forgot about it when I made the thread. They have sushi and other stuff that makes them not really register as vietnamese like the places on florida do.

Plus, this place is basically on campus. You can hit it with a rock from certain lsu buildings. While DF is no doubt close, it's not quite as walkable (though, no doubt, walkable if you want it to be).

Oh I know DF doesn't compare to those Fla places, but it's also exponentially closer. I'm extremely excited to have a full fledged Vietnamese joint this close. I may just be there weekly
