Opens at 4pm today with...wait for it...

-blonde ale
-something something fruited sour
-something something else fruited sour
-coconut vanilla stout
-something fruited honey ale

It took 2 years to come up with this stellar opening beer list.

Is a blone ale a requirement for all brewery grand openings?

Yeah not thrilled about another candy brewery. But this may just be a crowd pleaser opener.. We’ll stop by tomorrow though and try it out since we don’t have the kids this weekend.

Hell, I'll take the blonde over everything else on that list.

Looks like they are kid friendly. Advertising lemonade and pizza on their social media channels.

I'll wait to hear from others how it is. It's really close to my house, but nothing on that list inspires me to drive over there.

Craft brewing seems to be the only specialty type industry where EACH NEW PROPRIETOR thinks their chief initial focus must be to convert the lowest common denominator customer over to the very concept of their business.

You'd think they would understand that we might have approached the point where most of your potential customer base "get it" already.

The brewery property butts up to my parents neighborhood. I'll have to check it out this weekend. Hopefully the stout is good.

Curious as to how the honey ale tastes. Their description is "a wine-like honey ale with marionberry". I wonder what the ABV on that one is.

Looks like they're open 4:00-10:00.

I guess officially the location is called Istrouma Brewing at Sugar Farms. Website

Their stout is slam dunk good, absolutely delicious! They made the vanilla from Scratch with beans and bourbon barrels, and the nose is overflowing with coconut. Many people are going to hurt themselves drinking one or four too many of this one.
The Lena sour Is Very fruit forward with apricot notes, makes it really easy drinking.

Finally, fruited sours that aren’t pulpy. I hate these daiquiri sours that keep popping up that completely ruin “beer”.
