It's amazing how it stays busy with all of the local bakeries in the city.

I went to the one here in Montgomery, last year. I really didn't like the sandwich that I ordered. I had a turkey club and found it to be rather bland. The cheese soup that I had was gritty. They make their own bread, but guess what? Hardees hamburgers make their own buns and breakfast biscuits from scratch. A chain will always taste like a chain. I'd give anything to have a mom and pop store that specializes in things like roast beef poboys, fried seafood, chicken, etc. Red Lobster and chains like that are always packed here in Montgomery. IMO, Panera Bread is definitely overrated.

I'll admit that I like Hardees biscuits. I'm currently addicted to their double bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. That stuff might kill me, but at least I'll die with a smile on my face.

People bitch about everything. Go there expecting "the best Subway ever" and you will be fine.

Decent coffee with good bagels etc.

Cinnamon crunch bagel with hazelnut cream cheese is delicious. If someone says otherwise their opinion is false.

There's a place called Doumar's where I live. It was on Triple D, and apparently it's where the waffle cone was invented.

Last year they opened a Cook Out chain across the street, and a bunch of locals got upset, saying they were gonna put Doumars out of business. There was an effort to block it, but it failed.

A Chick fil a was built a couple of blocks down, and same sort of story.

Anytime I drive down that road, all 3 places are doing good business.

I knew they weren't going out of business, because the bulk of their business is people who've been going there forever. The food isn't that good, but it's a unique place and people enjoy it.

Markets aren't some fix pie like people think.
