I think charbroil makes one for like $70. Are they any good? I might pick one up for the holidays.

They cook fast. I use mine when I need oven space and I've had more than one overcook. Not the unit, it was operator error I just was off tending to my prime rib on the egg. Overall it's money reasonably spent.

Does it have the actual tenderness of a fried turkey? Or should I just use the oven?

If you are talking about the Big Easy, they are superb/ I have cooked turkey, chicken, pork butt, ribs, and a whole standing rib roast. Do not cook by time, use a thermometer and cook by temp removing the meat before it reaches the temp you want and let it sit. I usually take things off about 10 degrees before I want it. Two or three years ago I got mine at academy for like $79 but they are being discontinued it seems and HSN or QVC had they for $59 last week. I have ordered an extra basket while I can get one so you might consider that and the second shelf deal so you can do two chickens or meat and veggies. Obviously I could not be more pleased so sorry for the lengthy response.

Yes. No. Get one. They're worth it.

It's a bit different than oven. It is not a replacement for fried. Throw it in the oven and crisp up the skin in a gas grill on high heat and you would probably get as close as this.

You just don't get that clogging your arteries deliciousness without a bath in oil.

My best description is it is a broaster - definitely cooks fast and is convenient. It's a decent compromise between oven roasted and deep fried. We don't cook turkey enough to justify it as a uni-tasker, but I've enjoyed turkey prepared in one.

Certainly saves the hassle, cost, and cleaning of oil.

To me, tastes like a fried turkey, so it is my go to method
