In town for conference. We are staying on Bourbon. It is weird being a tourist in my home state, but help with selecting good restaurants within walking distance from Four Points.

Is Vacherie any good?

Budget might help with those giving suggestions. Casual, upscale?

Around 100 per couple. Not including beverages.

What does Brennan's cost? Any good?

Can easily dress up or down based on recommendation. I just want good food. Commander's Palace is probably the most famous place I've been and thoroughly enjoyed it. If that helps.

Here is the dining guide for the quarter LINK. Someone will be around to give you some suggestions. I have not eaten at enough down there to even give recomendations, but I have enjoyed The Pelican Club and GW Fins over Brennan's. There are a ton of places that should also be in consideration...

Breannan's would be low on my list honestly. I would go to Palace or Mr. B's before them, and its essentially the same thing. Palace is a tad less pricey than Mr. B's. Pelican Club is another good one, but might run you more than 100 per couple depending on what you order

Skip Brennan's.

What kind of food are you interested in? Traditional New Orleans fare would include Galatoire's and Arnaud's.

Something more eclectic and probably over your $100 budget is Stella!

Emeril's is not in the Quarter, but not far and it's an underrated restaurant in terms of people recommending it, in my opinion. All of my meals are excellent there.

For some more Cajun fare, you might enjoy K-Paul's.

Johnny's for a good poboy.

Stanley for a breakfast poboy the likes of which you won't have elsewhere. Or, even for lunch.

My coworker and I ate at Vacherie's this past weekend. It was really good and not too expensive. Small focused menu with a couple of specials. We stuck with seafood and were pleasantly surprised...It was recommended by the concierge at our hotel...

Also, personally, I would get out if the quarter.

Got to Cochon and Cochon Butcher in the Warehouse District.

Maurepas or 3 Muses in the Bywater and Marigny.

Good list. Maximo's doesn't get much pub on the board and I really like it. NOLA could be done for 100.00 a couple as well.

If you're going to get out of the Quarter, go to Casamento's.

I was in NOLA last week for the first time ever. We stayed four nights at the Royal Sonesta in the Quarter. Almost everything we ate was great.

Ate at Coop's for lunch & Irene's for dinner the first day, both were excellent. Had dessert at Cafe du Monde.

Second day we went to Johnny's Po Boys for Breakfast, Parasol's (Garden District) for lunch, and then we went to Jacque Imo's (Uptown), which my friends love but it was packed and one person didn't want to wait so we went to Squeal next door, which was just OK.

Third day was Mother's for breakfast which I loved, Butcher for lunch, which was incredible, and then Acme for an oyster snack, oysters like five times bigger than the puny ones we get here up north. Sat at the bar and had a great time. And finally Tujague's for dinner. Tujague's was just pretty good, it was more about the experience of eating at such a classic place.

Fourth day we ate at Elizabeth's (Bywater) for breakfast, fantastic. Fiorella's at lunch, great fried chicken, and then I turned in early because I was queasy from so much food and drink. I forget where the rest of my party ate dinner.

Fifth day Croissant d'Or for breakfast, Franks for lunch, which has one of my friend's favorite gumbo. Good muffuletta. Then finally Central Grocery where we got muffulettas to take home.

The trip really exceeded my expectations, I had a great time. I'm going to try and make it down again in December. I have a friend that goes three times a year who I'd go with.

Cheeseballs...that is a fantastic lineup, however I'd have to have Tums for about three weeks to recover from so much rich food....

Yeah, I shared a room and there was Pepto Bismol and Tums waiting on the counter for me the next morning that I crapped out early.
And I actually did weigh myself on Monday and was disgusted.
I could list all the bars we went to also which was a pretty impressive list.
