I've got to go from Jackson to Bossier tomorrow afternoon. I'm not familiar with north Louisiana at all. Where would be a good place to get a late lunch/early supper?

I'm not too picky. I know I'm asking about basically the whole northern part of the state. I usually try to find places that are unique to a particular area. I'm not looking for a chain store or anything like that.

I would eat at Cotton or Warehouse No 1 in Monroe.

Ernest's Orleans Restaurant is excellent in Shreveport.

Log Cabin or Beau Vines in Ruston if you want steak. Log Cabin is pretty meh tex mex wise, but the steak is local and fresh from LA Tech farms and imo is the best in town.

Warehouse No. 1 in Monroe is good too but I think closed on Mondays. Pickle Barrel has good sandwich type stuff for cheap and a good beer selection.

Big Momma's and Griffs both look good. How is Dawg House? A guy I work with has a son that goes to Tech and he told me that was a good spot.

I liked daily press's sandwichs better than pickle barrel. Good coffee there too. I am not sure why more places don't have the "french" Press auto machine like they do.

Griffs is super greasy fast food. Good for a hangover and not much else.

Dawg House is good. Amazing patty melt and good burgers.

Sundown is also good with the outside patio excellent for a day like today.

Sundown Tavern. I've drank so much in that place in my younger days I ought to own a percentage of that place!
