Is there anywhere that sells milk fed only veal, or is that a thing of the past?

I couldn't/wouldn't eat that on principle.
I'm okay with meat consumption, but I don't think that torturing a calf for it is respectable appreciative, and it's dying to feed us, it should be done respectably imo.

Jacque Pepin was talking about the color on an episode I watched this evening where he mentioned the color has changed since they've gone to grass fed veal.

Do you remember the color of the meat? Was it white, almost like pork?

one of the biggest travesties ever committed was the whole veal thing
if you think for a second that 80% of the meat you eat wasn't treated the same way you are delusional

we are the top of the food chain and cows in particular have been bred down to walking entrees

Milk fed veal wasn't even allowed to walk. They stood in crates and were fed until they didn't have the muscle mass to stand anymore and then they were tied upright and fed until it was butcher time.
I mean, I get that the food industry isn't exactly humane at every turn, but that just feels excessively cruel to me. It's just an opinion, but I don't think it's worth it.

It is still available only renamed "special fed veal" and pricey.

"Group Raised" is not quite the same but works well and lets a sauce shine through pretty well.

All I'm really asking about is the color of the meat when it was milk fed.

Y'all (not you) can quit with the humane and ethical aspects of it. I couldn't care less about a cow, how it's treated, or how it dies.

But thanks to all the posters who gave their opinion about milk fed veal.

Anyway, group raised.....huh. I'll have to look around. Any places around New Orleans have it?

You obviously have never eaten true milk fed veal. It is very much worth it.
