Being a native of Shreveport/ Bossier
i am ashamed to say i have NEVER given
Herby K's a try.

I have heard mixed reviews regarding this place, especially when the famous " Shrimp Buster" is brought up.

Looking to finally give it a try.

Thoughts?

I haven't been in a long time, but it's definitely good. It's not as mind-blowing as people around here make it seem. My theory is that since we don't have a lot of original food in these parts, people tend to blow up what is here into something that it's not (i.e., the shrimp buster, Strawn's, a steak from the Cub)

*By around here, I mean people in the Port, not people on the F&D board

Your shame is well founded.

Best marinated crab claws in town - twice as big as Ernests. Great raw oysters. I get the shrimp buster, but some of my family gets the etoufee/gumbo combo. Frog legs are also good.

Now that I've got a couple of Shreveportians in the same thread, where do y'all go to watch LSU games? Just moved back to town. Do bars fill up on gamedays or do people just have house parties here?

The Cub is always a good spot. Buffalo Wild Wings on Youree maybe?

I know the owners are big LSU people but I've never been there.

A lot of us go to Fat Cats to watch the LSU games they actually play the band music over the speakers after scores

Yes. I would strongly urge you to try the crab claws if you're not dining solo.

Yes. Just went there a few weeks ago. Shrimp Buster, Etoufee, Gumbo, Oyster Poboy and Onion rings.

I'm a big fan of their fried oysters.

Yum yum yum

Ask GaryMyMan where he got his TD name.
