Do these things work as advertised? What else besides turkey can you cook in these?

They work great. I don't know why they call them "fryers" though.

You can cook a bird in 2.5 hours and get a juicy bird with crisp skin. I've done pork butts and chickens in mine as well.

It's nice to be able to free up the oven space.

Agree to disagree.

Think of them as a convection oven, because that's what they are. The skin comes out more similar to a baked turkey than a fried turkey. Frying a turkey takes 45 minutes, using the "Greaseless Fryer" takes over 2 hours, baking it takes over 3 hours.

Sure with the right add ons you can cook all kinds of stuff, and they come out pretty good - chickens, roasts, ribs, etc.

If you want a fried-ish bird, but you also want to make a gravy with the drippings, then this is the way to go.

IMO, if you don't care about gravy, dealing with all the oil, the yearly expendature on peanut oil, etc.. fried turkeys are superior to all other ways.

One other bonus to the oilless fryer - you don't tie up your oven and you don't heat up your house.

I think it is more marketing to call it a grease less fryer. Definitely works like an oven. We will be doing a turkey in one and a pork roast in the other this weekend as we are doing turkey day early. That said they work great and are a hell of allot less mess than frying.

yes they work extremely well. I will be cooking in mine Thursday. I've cooked roasts, fish, ribs, tators, and veggies in mine. No complaints.

its like an open rotisserie more than a fryer

turkeys take forever but chickens and roasts are awesome. only way to roast chicken at my house.

i did a big chunk of tenderloin a week ago and it was fantastic as well

The oven space freed up is a good benefit, but I can cook a 12 pound turkey in a 475 degree oven in about an 1.5 hours. Juicy and delicious. I'm not sure why anyone would want to cook a bird at low temp for a long time.

I think they cook much quicker - not forever.

I have one and I use it at the beach when we are there for the holidays. Nice to drop a turkey in on the front porch and still have my ovens.

I have a big easy oil less Fryer and it works flawlessly. As well as advertised..... Maybe better.

ETA; I bought the accessorie kit for it. Definitely get that as well. As far as food I've done chicken( whole, legs and wings), Shish ka Bobs, pork ribs, beef ribs, turkey breast and pork roast.
