New market: New Orleans-based Crescent Crown Distributing has been named the distributor for the Grayton Beer Company products in Louisiana. Grayton Beer, a Florida-based craft brewery, is engaged in a 36-month expansion plan to increase its distribution footprint to markets in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana. The first rollout of Grayton products in Louisiana will include 30A Beach Blonde and Salt of the Gulf, a Leipzig-Style Gose. Grayton also will offer its Fish Whistle IPA to Louisianans in late summer. The products will be available in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Thibodaux. Business Report

It's definitely one of those beers to drink when you're in the area, just because it's from the area. It certainly never struck me as a product that might have a lot of success being regionalized. I'm not sure where the end game is for some of this stuff.

I've bought it a couple of times in Florida, but it's pretty meh tbh

I guess it will be popular with the Salt Life/ 30A bumper sticker crowd

And the thing about this from a marketing perspective is, I can't really see myself buying this if it gets distributed locally over any other number of beers I prefer that are available, and now when I travel to the area, I will be more likely to seek something else out because I will think to myself 'hell, I can buy that at home if I really wanted it.'

At some point, I'm just not sure how this strategy becomes a 'winning' one, unless you are pitching something really unique.

I am weary of any brewery that just expands for sake of growing.

This is spot on.

It's no better than the majority of our local breweries, but some people will buy just for the name 30A Beach Blonde.

They're not dumb. They know their targeted crowd will buy that with no questions asked just so they can further bask in their 30-A-ness.

They are wasting their time and effort expanding here. I got tricked once buying some of their shite at a restaurant. Never again. It will not sell. I'll buy wayward owl over this shite.

Will the 6 packs come with a bumper sticker? What good is drinking 30-A beer if I can't tell other motorist I'm drinking 30-A beer?

Have we reached the point of market saturation with regards to craft beer yet? It's as if every little podunk town has their own local beer at this point
