I usually just drink K Cups but was recently gifted with a Freiling French Press. What are some of your favorite "gourmet" coffee grinds out there?

I like the cafeciteaux brand here in baton rouge. its good stuff and you can get it at Alexanders. When we are on the coast I really enjoy Coast Roast, its all done in Long Beach. They are good people too....

Just picked up some of their Brazil Santos. Excited to try it out.

Find a local roaster and look at roasting dates. Whole Foods usually has some locals if you can't find it elsewhere

I have a friend in Alabama who orders the best beans and roasts them in his basement. Incredible and he might sell you some with my recommendation. Frightfully expensive, but cups of heaven.
He only purchases the raw beans in small quantities and then hand sorts them. Very anal about the whole process, but it shown in the results.
If interested, let me know here and I will post an email.

Once I was turned on to this bit of deliciousness, I have never gone back to any other roaster. This is who many of the high end restaurants use, so that gives you an idea of their quality. It is a bit pricey though ($10/lb average plus shipping costs), but it's worth it if you drink plenty of coffee.
My personal favorite is the Brazil Lua Azulroast for my french press. The Creole Chicory is killer too, but the grind is too fine for presses. I guess you could still use it, but it will clog up your filter.
