Whats a fair price for shrimp, say 14-16 count or so? Just curious what the going rate is down there. TIA

Go to the Farmers market on Saturday, a company from Houma is there at the northern end, they sell 9-12 head-on shrimp for 7/lb, a fracking bargain.

Chauvin's in Dulac had them cheap. 5.1 lbs for $20, straight off the boat.

My favorite too. Chalmations that came over after the storm. Usually 9-12 count for 5.99 or less and NO SMALL ones.

Thats why I asked. I was wondering what's fair for some of you because I know some are getting great prices.

I ain't going to drive to Houma or Grand Isle anytime soon, but if I do it will be a fifty lb purchase.

Farmers market isn't a bargain on everything.
Lots of things are ridiculously priced.

$3 is very cheap for 9/12's. I'm not saying you can't find them for that at times(depending on supply and demand that is) but I seriously doubt you can find them for that right now.

Got some 15 count in Golden Meadow for $3.25/lb last weekend. We head down south with friends every few months or so to load up the freezer.
