Will be on vacation next week in NYC. Need some good places to eat. Not gonna break the bank, so please don't recommend anything too expensive

I usually just Yelp whatever area I'm in and look at the reviews. So much depends on where you are and what time a day.

My friend lives near Almond, which is always a pretty good eat for me.

Nick's pizza.
Grey Dog for brunch
Daniel (If you want to break the bank)
As another poster suggested you should use yelp because there are so many restaurants per square mile so its best to just look at whats near you.

You can actually start pre-planning using that. Just change your current location to Times Square and select a radius. Keep changing your location to destinations you will be at to find restaurants in that area.

I don't think Yelp was around, at least in app form, when I last went to NYC. But I asked a few locals where to go when we arrived, and more than a few of them said everywhere will be good. There is so much competition and so many people that if a place is bad, it won't last. We only planned a couple of meals in advance. We ate in the semi-private dining room at 21, and we ate lunch at the 4 Seasons. The rest of the time, we just stopped when we got hungry or when we saw some place we wanted to try. You'll be so busy if you're out and about that it can get too complicated to plan around your meals.

Do you like Serbian food?

Do you like meat?

Try Kafana on the lower east side- on Avenue C.

Try Shake Shack, and make sure you get a slice from Nick's. Stay out of Little Italy, as it's not much more than a tourist trap now.

Peter Lugers steak house is a must. Subway stops 1 block from it. Junior's is good for breakfast. John's Pizzeria is a old church converted into a pizza place and is brick fire baked. Both Junior's and Johns are a 1/2 block off time square. Hope you enjoy your trip.
