The girlfriend got me a hop randall... can't wait to use it, already have so many different ideas. My brother also got me a Russian Imperial Stout kit from Brewstock, plus a pre-paid year-long membership to the American Homebrewers Association. Pretty cool.

No actual beer this Christmas, but that's more than okay. I'm pretty well stocked up.

Just read up on it. Sounds really cool.

I got a 4.6 cf mini-fridge, which I intend on turning into a cellar. Going to get an temperature controller for it and probably a humidifier.

Got a $70 gift card to Calandro's and $25 gift card to Whole Foods. Also, got a holiday ale gift pack from Ridgeway Brewing.

Humidifier? For storing grains?

I think they recommend that for corked bottles, to prevent the cork from drying out.

Oh yeah, Mom and sister also got the GF and I some Spec's gift cards. Going to be using them next trip to H-Town.

Nothing like guilt-free beer shopping.

What, the randall or the girlfriend who would gift you a randall?

Your girlfriend bought you a Randall? You'd better marry that one PDQ!

A temperature controller is super easy... not sure about a humidifier.

I have an extra mini fridge and was thinking about doing something like that.

Unfortunately not, but it was just part of the gift

All you do is plug the temperature controller into the wall, plug the fridge into the temperature controller, and set the dial for the temp you want it to hold. And make sure the probe is inside the fridge or it'll just run until it burns out.

Like Boo said, not sure about the humidity. I've only perused a few discussions about it online, but I believe it can be done.

4 bottles of home brew from a friend (brown ale, black ale, and a satsuma hefewizen). A 12 pack mixer from Fort Collins and a sixer of CaneBrake and 1 bottle of the Grand Reserve. Did the Parish brew tour on Friday and got to try the Envie on tap.

Is that like what I'm looking for? Looks pretty cheap compared to the rest of the temp controllers

I just ordered this one, based off a recommendation I read online from someone who was using a mini-fridge for the same purpose. It has great reviews.

ETA: Same one Boo has, sounds like I picked a winner. Boo, why do you have two?

Did they let you try anything else in the works?
